Victor YUAN is the founder and chairman of the board of Horizon Research Consultancy Group, China’s leading public opinion and polling organization, which was founded in 1992. He has over 20 years of experience in marketing, sociological research, policy analysis, and management consulting. His dedication to socially oriented polling work has successfully led to encouraging increased NGO services for homeless people, revamp HIV/AIDS prevention programs, assist migrant workers integrate into urban communities, and improve human rights environments inside factories.
Yuan has published more than 400 research reports, papers, books, and translation works on law, economics, sociology, politic science, and culture. He also specializes in the areas of social group culture, branding, and empirical methodology of design for marketing strategy and public policy.
Yuan also oversees annual assessments of public officials in China and, since 2006, has been leading an international effort to enhance the transparency of the Chinese government. He serves as president of the Beijing Consulting Association, vice president for China Marketing Research Association, representative of the Association of Management Consulting Firms in China, and adjunct professor for Tsinghua, Nankai, and Southwest Jiaotong universities.
Yuan also serves as a long-term and strategic consultant for renowned multinational and domestic media and corporations both in China and abroad. He is a highly recognized public figure nationwide and is a frequent speaker on areas of market research, consulting, strategy, and social trends in China. He has been a television anchor of the business TV show “Brainstorming” for two years in Shanghai. The show was recently rated as the number one business TV talk show in Chinese in Asia by a Singaporean-based Asian TV Festival.
